Extension and Improvement Project

Following several public consultations earlier in the year The Village Hall Trustees have made changes to the design of the Hall extension and prioritised the installation of acoustic panels which were highlighted concerns from a few local residents. Full Planning permission was obtained for this improvement project, and we have obtained quotations from 4 local Builders. We are currently applying for Grant funding and planning several Fundraising events; details of events will be announced shortly. Subject to raising sufficient funds we hope to commence work in around 12 months.

At the consultations it became apparent that a few people were not fully aware of current events and activities at the Hall, these are all listed on the Hall website and listed below.

Better Balance

About Better Balance

Tuesdays, 12:45pm-1:45pm.

Our classes are designed for those who have had a fall or are concerned about their balance. Classes consist of a mixture of chair based and standing exercises.

Anyone who feels the classes could benefit them are eligible to attend. You can either self-refer or be referred by a health professional to participate in the classes. Please complete referral form here.

The Better Balance scheme promotes balance and confidence while helping to:

  • Prevent falls and improve stamina
  • Increase strength, mobility and flexibility
  • Lower the risk of osteoporosis
  • Improve blood pressure and cholesterol

Boogie Shoes Line Dancing

Every Thursday with classes for all levels

  • 7:00pm – 8:00pm Beginners
  • 8:00pm – 9:00pm Improvers
  • 9:00pm – 10:00p Intermediate

We hold line dance classes on a weekly basics to learn all the new dances coming out.
Our club is made up of people of all ages and gender who enjoy making new friends and just simply like having fun!!!
They enjoy spending time together at our Classes and Events.

Cam & Dursley Table Tennis Club

Tuesdays at 7.30pm

The Club is open to anyone interested in the game of table tennis.

Visitors are always welcome but to ensure the Club is open and there are table available, it is preferable to ring NIGEL MEREDITH (tel 07884435122 or 01453 546795) or email tt2u2013@gmail.com. Table subs are £4 a night for normal club nights, and membership is £17 a year if you decide to join.

The Club has three teams in the Stroud Table Tennis League and have home matches on Tuesday evenings from September to March. However, there are usually practice tables even when matches are being held.

Kids Cooking Classes

Tuesdays 3:45pm-5:00pm Minis and Juniors, ages 2-11

At Cook Stars we take care of all the preparation to make it easy for your Children to simply come along and enjoy our sessions. All ingredients, cooking equipment, an apron, packaging and cooking know-how is provided! Everyone takes home their lovely dish along with a recipe card to cook again at home. We even see to the clearing away and washing, we provide everything you’ll need to cook we also treat children to a craft activity and a snack to keep them entertained during cooking time.

There’s lots of opportunity to experiment with different preparation methods….weighing, measuring, shape cutting, decorating, rolling and much more! We learn about different ingredients, try new foods and develop useful life skills. We believe the secret to pleasurable learning is though ‘play’ so we keep our class sizes small to tailor our support and encourage individuals whilst we cook up a wide range of delicious dishes.

Dance Classes for children aged 2 years & up!

Mondays 5:15 – 6:15pm for Tap & Jazz for 8+
Thursdays 10:00am – 10:45am for Pre-schoolers 2-4 years

Tap & Jazz for ages 8+

This class is all about learning brand new skills in tap dance & jazz. From beginners to children with some experience we welcome you all! Each class focuses on exercises to better your technique in both genres followed with a routine at the end of the class that you will continue to work on for a few weeks.

Pre-schoolers class

Our preschool class is all about learning new dance moves & techniques, making new friends, building your little ones confidence & most of all, having fun! We want to encourage children to be themselves and to always make learning new things fun! Grown-ups are welcome to stay in class & watch.

Dursley & District Flower Society

Every 2nd Monday in the Month

Learn to arrange and enjoy flowers. Watch demonstrations by experts. Visit shows and festivals. Sales Table with containers and accessories. Meet every 2nd Monday in the Month 1.45 p.m. for 2.00 p.m. Anyone is welcome to join – modest subscriptions. You do not need to buy flowers regularly. You may attend as a visitor before joining the Society.

Dursley Rugby Minnows

Dursley Minnows Rugby is a rugby-based play program aimed at pre-school children from ages 2-school entry. The sessions focus on building motor skill development and confidence for pre-school children to develop a love and enjoyment of exercise as they progress to school. We run separately to Dursley Rugby Club, however, maintain a close association to support the transition of players and parents to Dursley Rugby Club for under 6’s.

Fit Fix Exercise Classes

Every Monday at 6.30pm

Our classes are martial arts & boxing to motivating & empowering music designed to tone muscle & burn fat. It challenges all parts of the body with high & low impact options to suit your personal fitness ability. We warmly welcome men & women wanting to make improvements to their health & well-being and of course have some laughs along the way. Mondays at 6.30pm. Yes, you can just drop in.

Floating Lotus Yoga

Wednesday’s 6:30 – 7.30pm

The village hall has a wooden floor and is within easy access of Dursley, Cam and surrounding areas. Its rural location guarantees a peaceful place to practice yoga.  Ample on-site parking is available.

Palette Club

Wednesdays 9.30 – 12.30 in the Committee Room

We meet to paint together 9.30 – 12.30 every week. We enjoy occasional demonstrations, workshops and outings to sketch or visit exhibitions.

Stinchcombe History Society

Stinchcombe History Society hosts talks and exhibitions which are advertised on the Village Hall calendar, Stinchcombe e-news, Stinchcombe newsletter, local Facebook pages and local notice boards.

Tiny Toads Stinchcombe Playgroup

Mondays 10:00am – 11:30am

A welcoming stay and play group for babies and toddlers (0-4s) and their parents/carers. . This is a community run traditional playgroup, all are welcome! Come and join us for some fun with the little ones. Meet other like-minded parents whilst the Children play. Tea, Coffee and snacks included. Zumba with Ali

Tuesdays 6pm – 7pm

Latin dance inspired fun fitness classes for any age and ability. Beginners very welcome. £5 pay as you go.
