Comments Off on Wind Turbines Public Inquiry

The Public Inquiry into the appeal by Ecotricity against refusal of planning permission to site four 120 metre high wind turbines in Stinchcombe parish was completed at the third session from 4th to 7th September 2012. The Planning Inspector heard evidence on behalf of Ecotricity, Stroud District Council, Stinchcombe Parish Council and the Save Berkeley Vale campaign group. The closing statement on behalf of Alkington, Hamfallow and Stinchcombe parish councils emphasised “The parish councils are the elected representatives of the people in these communities and on behalf of the vast majority of people in the communities are unanimous in their opposition to the proposed development. The parish councils are fully supportive of the Save Berkeley Vale campaign group and are aware of the extent of the support it enjoys from the local communities.” The Planning Inspector who conducted the Public Inquiry is expected to issue his decision on the appeal by the end of October.
