Have you noticed that the drinking fountain (adjacent to St Cyr’s Church) has a smart new roof?

The roof had become overgrown with ivy and travellers’ joy and the Cotswold Stone tiles were cracked and broken such that the roof was in danger of collapse.

The cost of the repairs was £1,080 and Stinchcombe Parish Council wishes to thank two local residents and Save Berkeley Vale for their generous 20151218_100957donations that enabled the refurbishment to be completed.

Save Berkeley Vale had funds remaining from the successful wind turbine campaign and these were given to CPRE (Council for the Protection of Rural England) and to Stinchcombe Parish Council specifically for the maintenance of heritage assets in the village.
