PRESENTS

THE MILLS OF THE DURSLEY, WOTTON UNDER EDGE & ULEY AREA

The importance of the woollen cloth industry in the Dursley, Wotton Under Edge and Uley area for centuries has left a rich heritage. Using historic and modern photographs, the talk will look at a number of sites, some of which are instantly recognisable, while many others are relatively unknown. The processes used to make the cloth and the organisation of the industry will also be considered.

Our speaker Dr Ray Wilson is a retired Physicist who spent much of his life in the Electricity Supply Industry at Berkeley. He has been the Secretary of the Gloucestershire Society for industrial Archaeology for the past 37 years
