Just When We Had Our Hopes Up…

Resurfacing of Wick Lane will not now take place in June as previously notified but has been delayed until “later in the year.”

Parish Assembly and Parish Council AGM

The Annual Parish Assembly will be held in the Village Hall on Wednesday 22nd May at 7.30 pm. This is an opportunity to hear about and comment on what the Parish Council’s been up to and to raise issues of concern in the village. All are welcome and it would be a good opportunity for anyone new to Stinchcombe to find out more about their new home.

The Parish Council AGM will be held the following week on Wednesday 29th May at 7.30 pm, in the Village Hall. Again, all residents are welcome to attend.

Parish Council Vacancy

A vacancy has arisen on the Parish Council which is open to anyone who lives or owns a business in, or within three miles of, the village. This is an opportunity to be involved in village life and to have a say in what happens here and involves attendance at approximately nine meetings per year, each of about an hour and a half with some communication by email between meetings. It would be an excellent way for someone new to the village to become established and get to know people and we would welcome applications from new residents a well as long-standing ones.

Stinchcombe’s is a very small Parish Council with only five members but a quorum of three, the same as for a council of ten members, is required for meetings. If we don’t have a full complement of councillors,  a touch of flu and a traffic jam on the same day can mean cancelling  a meeting at sort notice. This hasn’t happened often but means that we would like to fill the vacancy as soon as possible and ideally at the AGM on 22nd May. If you think you might be interested, don’t hesitate to contact the Clerk (, 544611) or Chair (, 542604) for more information and/or come along to the Parish Assembly on 22nd May for a chat.
