gardenwaste2The New Garden Waste Collection Scheme starts in February 2016.

The scheme is entirely optional and residents are able to continue to compost at home and compost bins can be purchased at a subsided cost through Gloucestershire County Council http://www.gcc.getcomposting.com  or take their garden waste to the household recycling centres.

Alternatively residents can sign up for the New Garden Wast Collection Scheme.

How the scheme works:

  • After purchasing a 180 litre brown wheelie bin residents will be sent a licence to attach to the top of the bin lid.
  • Garden waste will be collected fortnightly over the ten month period February to November inclusive.
  • Only garden waste contained within the Council issued bin will be collected from the kerbside.
  • You may subscribe to more than one bin at an additional cost.
  • Due to vehicle access not all properties in the district can receive this service, so check first.

N.B. TO ENSURE YOUR BIN DELIVERY FOR THE SCHEME COMMENCEMENT PLEASE ORDER AND PAY BEFORE THE 21ST JANUARY 2016.

How to sign up and pay:

Collection of the bin costs £36 and is not refundable.
Residents will also need to buy a garden bin which costs £20 in the first year.
