Mathew Tyndall Educational Foundation

The Matthew Tyndall Educational Foundational Charity is a registered Stinchcombe Charity, which has been in existence since 1893 for the benefit of students in the Parish of Stinchcombe.

It provides small grants for the purpose of assistance in the purchase of books or equipment.

Unfortunately the foundation is running out of money.  The income generated has, over the past few years, been less than the amount handed out in grants.

The reasons for this are:

a) restricted income, and

b) an increasing number of Students who qualify for grants.

The Educational Foundation is administered by the Trustees of the Stinchcombe United Charities, itself a registered charity. (Encompassing five historic, Stinchcombe charities) One of these historic Charities is the Matthew Tyndall Charity.

This holds reserves in COIF, the Charities Official Investment Fund, and it also has a parcel of land, which is rented out for agricultural purposes.

The income from both is transferred to The Matthew Tyndall Educational Foundational Charity.   However, by constitution, the amount of money transferred is restricted to a third of the income. The rest is allocated elsewhere.

Can You Help?

Are you in a position to help ensure that this Charity continues for the benefit of Stinchcombe Students in the future?

Either by:

  • A donation to cover the immediate shortfall via Stinchcombe United Charities
  • A donation to the Matthew Tyndall Charity for investment in COIF, to produce more income for the long term.
