Stinchcombe Local History Society.
Following the call for residents interested in local history in the January newsletter, we now have a small nucleus of people who are keen on the formation of a club and the village hall committee have very kindly offered the use of the committee room to the side of the main hall for our meetings.

So, for anyone who ever wanted to know more about the history of the village, the history of your house and the people who have lived there, or the land it was built on, If you want to research your own family history or if you already have done this and have the background knowledge of how to go about it maybe you would like to share this with others just starting out on their quest, please get in touch.

This is a new venture for the village and we would love people from all parts of the village to come together and be involved, you don’t have to come to the meetings if it is not for you but you can contribute any knowledge either verbally or written of happenings and past occupants of the village. Maybe you have some wartime stories to tell or family memories of the various events that used to be held on the Hill, maybe you have some old photographs of places, events, people that we can copy and save for future generations to look back on and use in their own research.
If any of this interests you please get in touch, most of us (including me) will be starting from ground level so please don’t feel intimidated, we can all learn together.
