Village Players

Stinchcombe Village Players was founded in 2005. Janet Bartlett was keen to start an amateur dramatics society, envisaging this as a way of involving the children of the village in a community event.

Stinchcombe Village Hall proved the perfect venue – it was large enough to hold a good audience number, the stage was perfect, and there were lots of cupboards and store rooms which could be turned into dressing rooms.

The annual pantomime is now one of the highlights of the village year, and has started to attract regular audience members from far and wide. We become a stronger group with every year that passes, and in 2013 we introduced a fourth performance of the pantomime, to accommodate the demand for tickets.

Our membership extends beyond Stinchombe and includes people from North Nibley, Wotton-Under-Edge, Dursley, Cam and beyond. We’re always keen for new people to join us both on and off stage, so do get in touch if you’d like to be involved.
