Dr Simon Draper will give a talk on place names and their origins focusing on the Gloucestershire landscape.
Dr Simon Draper is Assistant Editor for the Victoria County History and editor of the Transactions of the Bristol and Gloucestershire Archaeological Society. He studied archaeology at Durham University and his doctorate (published in 2006) focused on Roman and early medieval Wiltshire. He has written a number of articles on place-names and the Anglo-Saxon landscape.
