Daddy, what did YOU do in the Climate Emergency?
Or indeed Grandaddy or Grandma. Joking aside, most of us would agree that we need to do something. Climate action groups are springing up all over the district. I’m involved with the Wotton group and they are doing some great work (see Catherine Braun’s post). They are not activists, just ordinary people who want to take sensible, practical measures.
Last month there was a workshop for the Cam/Dursley area. Although I was the only Stinchcombe resident there, I don’t believe that nobody else in Stinchcombe cares. I could join a Cam group, but I’d much rather we had our own.
My current priorities include:
• Reducing my carbon footprint (but still having fun!)
• Getting reliable, unbiased information on electric vehicles
• Improving the availability of locally produced food with minimal packaging
Yours may be different and I’d love to hear about them.
I hope we can get a group going in Stinchcombe, whether under the auspices of the Parish Council or independently. Everybody is busy, but how many of our day to day activities are really more important than this?
