The Parish Council:

ChairMarian Shaw (click name to email)

Vice ChairScarlett Guy

Joined the Council in May 2015. She has lived in Stinchcombe all her life and is keen to preserve and maintain its character. She has recently completed a law degree and has had work experience in SDC’s legal and planning departments as well as with the Citizens’ Advice Bureau in Gloucester. She feels that youth is under-represented in the village and is keen to see more for young people.

CouncillorCharlotte Ledger

Originally from the north-west, Charlotte has lived in Church Cottage for a year and is very keen to be involved in village life. She has considerable experience in a variety of related fields and we are sure that she will be a very valuable addition to the Council.

Councillor

Chris Snellock

Has lived in Stinchcombe for 11 years, during which time he has taken part in the formulation of the original Village Plan and has been joint footpath warden since early 2015. He believes that rural communities are very important and would not like to see the village changed radically.

ClerkNola Bradley (click name to email)

I have lived in Stinchcombe for 25 years and have been Parish Clerk since May 2010.

The job is largely administrative and involves preparing agendas for and taking minutes at PC meetings and the annual Parish Assembly; organising other meetings, such as for the Commuity Speedwatch as necessary; dealing with Council correspondence, which is almost exclusively by email these days, and liaising with other bodies and organisations; making sure that residents are kept up to date on the Council’s work via the website, Enews and Newsletter. It is also my responsibility to ensure that statutory provisions, standing orders etc affecting the running of the Council are observed and that the Councillors are kept up to date with any changes.

As Clerk, I am also the Council’s Responsible Financial Officer and as such it is my job to prepare statements of payments and receipts for presentation at Council meetings as well as to produce an annual budget on which the Parish Precept is based and to prepare end of year accounts for the External auditors.

Wardens

Several residents are kind enough to give up their time to keep an eye on the Parish’s footpaths and trees.

The Footpath Wardens are Charlie and Jude Oakhill, Caroline Marshall and Chris Snellock, who try to monitor footpaths in and around the village to spot any problems. If you have any concerns regarding footpaths, please either form one of the wardens or contact any member of the Parish Council.

Our Tree Warden is Ian Kirkham who keeps an eye on the well-being of the trees on the Avenue as well as the Millennium and Trafalgar trees. Again, if you have concerns regarding any of these, lease let Ian or any Parish Councillor know. Please note that Ian’s remit is for these trees only and concerns about any other trees in public areas should be referred to Stroud District Council.
