I thought people might be interested in a project that is taking place on Stinchcombe Hill:
Back from the Brink is a conservation project designed to save 20 species from extinction and help 200 others at sites across England. The target species include animals, birds, insects, plants and fungi. Read more about it at www.naturebftb.co.uk
One of the sites will be Stinchcombe Hill, which is one of only four in the country where the Rock-Rose Pot Beetle lives. Our Wednesday morning volunteers will be working with contractors to improve the habitat for this very rare beetle. It’s so rare that I’ve yet to see one, but if I had I probably would have mistaken it for a ladybird!
