This year has been the anniversary of ten of the twenty-three Stinchcombe residents who died in the Great War.  Amongst those was Rifleman Edgar Woodward 207340 who died on 18th December 1917 at the age of 33.

He was in the 22nd Battalion Rifle Brigade and Died in Salonika Greece on the Macedonian Front.

Before the war, he was a St Cyrs Church bellringer and lived with his parents Walter and Loisa Jane Woodward in 1 The Buildings, The Street.

On the Anniversary of his death, Monday 18th December, a quarter peal will be held in remembrance of him and the other nine Stinchcombe residents.
